Both Pharmacy students and recent graduates under the umbrella of RPSA are hosting their 9th annual International Pharmaceutical Symposium which is slated to happen on the 24th to the 25th of March in Huye district (136.3km from Kigali city). This event convenes pharmacy students, Pharmacists and other professionals as far as health is concerned, to discuss the progress and the possible improvement to the advancement of the profession.

This year’s edition is themed ’Medicines and beyond: New ways for pharmacists to provide more than just medicines’, where discussions will broadly tackle innovative ways for practice in the 21st century.

Speaking to the chairperson of the symposium, M.S Ishimwe Francoise, the importance of such gatherings was reiterated and the promise of good outcomes from discussions was given. She said, “People ought to be part of this conference as discussions await on how we should better shape pharmacy profession”.  She further added saying, “The theme itself aspires the future health needs where pharmacists will need to embrace innovations that go beyond the status of dispensing”.

A crucial part of this symposium is the pharmacy week where events like the NCDs screening will be held, charitable acts and the most exciting of all, the post symposium tour, which would take participants through Rwanda’s Nyungwe forest park to enjoy the pleasant views of nature.
