You don’t need to be old to make an impact and one should not wait to grow grey hairs to realize how important they are. A group of seven pharmacy students at university of Rwanda live this reality and proved wrong to anyone who had low expectations towards young people by defying all odds.

SaGE (pharmily) an acronym of “Same Goal Elite” is the name of this noteworthy group, which you may have come across on social media for one moment or another. You cannot comprehend coherently intention of SaGE until you visit its mission which is shaping up the future through youth empowerment and making healthcare services and information accessible to each and everyone.

Apparently seven members of SaGE are in their twenties, but their activities are far beyond their years of age. So far the group has run various activities targeting the community including Antimicrobial resistance awareness, sexual and reproductive health awareness, Anti Self medication campaign to name just a few.

Mr Thierry NAYITURIKI who is a member of SaGE and in charge of activities affirmed a continued impact of the group in community in years ahead. He said” I should admit that what we achieved so far is beyond expectations and give us an unflagging courage to keep doing better. We are aiming at broadening the number of campaigns that we run in community and slot in eye catching and educative gatherings within student community as well.”

At this juncture, SaGE has been impactful and transformational in Huye district (133.2km2 from Kigali the capital city of Rwanda) where it operates, by reaching out five secondary schools in Health awareness campaigns as aforementioned and passing on message enclosed in their mission.

SaGE Pharmily epitomizes fortitude and inextinguishable passion of young pharmacists in health sector worthy of emulation and with no doubt with sizeable group as SaGE community health would attain great level.
